Beefeater Bus Display Unit
The Brief
We were approached to develop a Beefeater promotional display, for Pernod Ricard in the theme of a Routemaster bus, which was intended to be used at pop-up events as a tasting bar. We were briefed on the project from the concept design agency The Fletcher Project and asked to design and support with the manufacture of this promotional display. The unit had to replicate the front of a classic Routemaster bus and needed to be able to be wheeled around.
The Outcome
We designed the unit in Solidworks and began working from elevations of London buses. We engineered a central steel box section framework to provide the necessary structure for the design, to fix the bearing assemblies and cladding to. The unit was then clad in FR rated MDF. It also had to include fully functioning tyres and a leisure battery so that the unit could function autonomously for two day promotional events. The bar had to have fully switching electronics to sound a horn, flash head lights and to power up/down. The unit had to conform to airport regulations and also be Euro Class B compliant whilst also being easy enough for a single person to move it around.
A fun and engaging project to be involved in designing and supporting Amalgam Modelmaking Ltd with, which looked fantastic and received high praise from our customer. Special mention also to The Fletcher Project.
